Grilled Okra Skewers
These grilled okra skewers are spiced simply with whole cumin seeds, chilli flakes and black pepper. They taste great dipped in a fresh tomato salsa or a tangy mint and coriander yogurt!
- 24 okra
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp whole cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp sea salt flakes
- 1/4 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
Into a large bowl add okra along with olive oil, cumin seeds, sea salt flakes, red chilli flakes and ground black pepper.
Toss until the oil and spices have completely coated the okra.
Pierce 2-3 okra onto a metal skewer. Repeat until all the okra have been skewered.
Lay the okra flat onto a baking tray with a 1.5 inch gap between each skewer.
Set the grill to a medium temperature 200°C/390°F and grill the okra skewers for 6-7 minutes on each side.
Remove from the grill once the okra skin appears evenly scorched. Serve whilst warm.
